Practical Goal Setting Tips – Are You Making Any of These Mistakes?-Part 1

By Anthony D Carter

Not Writing It Down. Goals that are not written tend to get forgotten. In the normal day to day activities our goals get lost. Because we don’t have them written down we don’t see them enough to impress them upon our thoughts. Out of sight out of mind.

You will be hard pressed to stay on track with your plans for accomplishing your goal if you do not set aside some time to regularly reflect on what you are attempting to do. Without a clearly defined, written target you are destined to experience frustration, distraction and eventual failure.

Solution: Write your goals down. Something miraculous happens when you do. Writing your goals down makes the whole goal setting process more legitimate. It gives you a set of objectives that you can review on a regular basis.

Create goal cards and carry one of them with you at all times. Look at it and read it regularly throughout the day. When you can actually see your goals written out you are better able to keep your attention centered on them.
