Motivation Tips – More Ways to Stay Excited

Yesterday I shared 3 tips for staying excited and motivated. Here are some additional ways to stay excited as you are working towards hitting your goals.

Make it fun. One of the best ways to stay motivated is to treat your goal achievement process like a game. I do this all of the time. When I finish a task or activity related to my goal sometimes I react with a fist pump like Tiger Woods. I say to myself “Yes! Now that’s what I’m talking about.” It may seem silly to some people, but it’s fun. Enjoy the journey. It is easy to stay motivated when you are enjoying what you are doing.

Record your growth. Journal instances when you discover that you have grown emotionally, mentally and or spiritually. It is important that you record these occurrences because we generally forget them. We are so busy and focused on getting the desired result that we neglect to recognize overall improvement. It is very inspiring to read about moments during your journey when you realized you moved to a higher level of thinking or acting. When you read journal entries about your positive mental shifts and personality improvements you get excited. That is one of the benefits of goal achievement. You grow as a person on the way to getting what you want. Use a journal to take snapshots of that growth. When you read those entries they motivate you to keep doing more.
