Motivation Tips – 3 Ways to Stay Excited

Excitement will take you a long ways towards hitting your goals. After hearing a good motivational speaker most of us feel like we can accomplish anything that we want to do. Unfortunately that motivation and excitement does not last. Here are three tips that you can use in order to stay excited as you are doing the necessary work to hit your goals.

1 – Keep your eyes on the prize. Focus on your desired result every minute of the day. Never let discouragement or doubt replace the excitement that you feel when you think about your dream. See what you want clearly in your mind’s eye. Make a concerted effort to remind yourself that every action that you take has a direct impact on the eventual achievement of your goal.

2 – Put events into their proper perspective. Remember you have a choice as to what you choose to focus on. Just because you got a flat tire and a speeding ticket on the way to the gym does not mean that you are going to fail to hit your goal of losing 15 pounds before the spring. Take the bad circumstances in stride. Get accustomed to switching your focus when doubt, worry or frustration tries to creep into your mind. Go back to your intention of hitting your goal and get excited about taking your next steps.

3 – Do not listen to naysayers. When someone expresses doubt or pessimism in regards to your goal achievement do not take that in. So called friends and some family members are frequently your biggest doubters. They knew you when you were at some of the weakest moments in your life. They also remember you when you were immature. So it is hard for them to let go of those images. But do not let their comments drain your motivation. And in regards to negative people just consider the source. It doesn’t matter what they say anyway. Do not give their comments a second thought. Stay excited and keep moving forward.
