Persistence – Monitor Results
By Anthony D Carter
As I stated yesterday, persistence one of the most important components of your success or failure. If you don’t have enough perseverance then you will most certainly fail.
However, if you last longer than the trials, heart aches and disappointments that you will face while you are pursuing your goals then you will eventually meet with the success that you desire.
Today I will give you tip 2 of 3 tips for strengthening your persistence.
The second tip is:
Monitor the results. As you are following your plan constantly check to see if you are on track. Let’s say you planned to save $1,500 in six months for a down payment on that new car that you wanted. You planned to save $250 per month. If you only have $300 saved 3 months into your plan then you’ve gotten off track. This will result in you being disappointed 3 months later unless you make some adjustments.
Far too often we make a plan then we start diligently working the plan but we don’t look at the results along the way. When you take this approach you will most certainly miss your goals. Shortly after missing your goals frustration will set in. The next thing you know you are dead in the water.
This whole cycle of failure can easily be avoided by monitoring your results along the way. With each step you take pause to check make sure that you are still on track with what you are trying to do.
In order to stay on coarse examine your results on a regular basis. This way you can avoid potential shortfalls that are within your control. You will stay on track and thus stave off discouragement.
