Affirmation Power: 5 minutes To Increasing Your Confidence

By Anthony D Carter

Affirmations can help you gain confidence quickly and easily when they are applied properly.

Here are three ways to use affirmations to increase your confidence within 5 minutes.

First, write down the main reason you are feeling fear or in trepidation. What is it that you are fearful about? Do not over think this. Write down the first thought that comes to mind. Lack of money, lack of skill in a particular area and lack of knowledge are all common reasons for low levels of confidence.

Next, write down what you think would be the opposite of that reason. Here is an example: “I don’t know how to close this sale.” You would write down the opposite in this way: “I know exactly what to do to close this sale.”

Lastly, add emotion as you read this statement out loud to yourself several times. Say to yourself “I am a great salesman and I know exactly what to do to close this sale.” Smile and say this statement repeatedly as you picture yourself making the sale. Then go about your life expecting to learn everything that you need to know and do in order to close the sale.

Another good way to increase your success with affirmations is to stand in front of a mirror as you repeat them while looking into your eyes.
This exercise can be done quickly and it provides you with noticeable, positive results within 5 minutes or less. Do it daily for 21 days and you will completely replace fear and nervousness with strength and confidence.

Great post, Anthony. I think another way to increase confidence is to focus on the positive aspects of one’s life. But in order to do that, one has to know what his underlying values are. What does he want to get out of his experiences? This would help him focus on what he wants which in turn, increases his self-confidence.
