4 Keys to Solid Planning For Hitting Your Goals

By Anthony D Carter

When attempting to hit goals it is very important that you have plan. In order to take any journey it is important that you first map out the route that you plan to take in order to get there. Here are four keys to developing a solid plan.

Get a big picture. What is involved? Contemplate the necessary work. Consider all of the tasks that are required for you to hit your goal. Flesh it out on paper.

Map out the most direct route. The shortest distance between two objects is a straight line. Be efficient. Make your journey as short as possible so that you can get what you want as quickly as possible. Organize all of the work into a step by step plan. Lay out all of the steps so that you will know what to do on a daily basis.

Schedule in breaks.
This keeps your batteries charged. Set up predetermined breaks in your plan. Decide to take breaks after hitting milestones. When you take regular breaks from working your plan you will return refreshed and energized. You will be sharper.

Be Flexible. Make adjustments as you go along based on current conditions and knowledge. When you set your goal there are situations that you cannot account for in your plan. In the beginning you don’t know what you don’t know. As you gain further knowledge you have to be flexible enough to work that information into your plan for better results.

Celebrate. When you accomplish your goal have a celebration already planned. Take a cue from the various organized sports leagues. After the championship the winner is crowned champion and celebrated for their accomplishments. They are given accolades and trophies. You should celebrate as well.
